Dr. Shankara Chetty Explains what a person might experience in the 1st seven days after contracting the virus. Dyspnea sets in on day 8 which is now and allergic reaction and must be treated as such.
Dr Chetty speaking:
“Yes. when it gets to the early phase of treatment we are dealing with a viral infection. All of us have had a common cold or flu in our lives, so I think we all are best suited to deal with that. There are a few things you want to be doing and doing well, yes you know how to treat your own flu and each one of us respond to viruses a little differently and I think you are the expert in treating your own flu, so do the usual things, don't change too much. The things that we need to address from the perspective of covid illness, is what might transpire on the eighth day and so we are working towards a major catastrophe on the 8th day. You're not sure are you going to get there and whether that's going to be the thing that to affects you. A lot of people don't get to that, so there are drugs like Ivermectin which have been shown to have some prophylactic benefit. I tend to use plasma-Quinn, hydroxychloroquine only in those who seemed to have clinical symptoms of a high viral load so if they have severe body aches and pains, and high spiking temperatures then I would use some hydroxychloroquine on them but for the rest it's relatively symptomatic management and we are planning towards that 8th day. Now we don't want a sudden mast cell de-granulation on that day and if it's going to occur, best we be predicting it. Quercetin has shown some great benefit as a good mast cell stabilizer, so that I would advise in the first phase of treatment different from this symptomatic intervention, so quercetin is vitally important in that first phase. Antihistamine, symptomatic treatment, and our aim is to get you relatively well by the fifth or sixth day so that you would notice any worsening on the 8th day. So early treatment, the first viral Phase I think is pretty symptomatic, with a few medications like quercetin and of course aspirin because we deal with a lot of coagulation issues. So, I would just add quercetin and aspirin to the early treatment and make sure that the patient is being treated appropriately with daily improvement so that we will be preparing for what might transpire on that 8thday”
